Derrius Guice Jersey

Sunday afternoon’s home game against the Atlanta Falcons turned out to be a blowout in epic fashion. The Redskins’ heralded defense sat back and watched as the Falcons’ running backs gashed them Landon Collins Jersey , averaging 6.4 yards per carry, and saw Matt Ryan complete 26 of his 38 passing attempts for 350 yards and four touchdowns. It’s certainly not the end of the world as the Skins sit at 5-3 halfway through their season, but it does show serious vulnerability against strong offensive teams. Below are my Studs and Duds of the game. Studs:Maurice Harris - Harris set career highs in receptions in a game with 10, and receiving yards with 124. Some of these may have come at garbage time, but the crafty slot receiver showed he can get open and make tough catches with defenders near by.Matt Ioannidis - Ioannidis tied for the team lead in tackles with 7 and registered yet another sack and multiple quarterback hits on the day. He was the only front seven player who showed up. Tress Way - Way continued his excellent punting on the season, averaging 49 yards per boot and had four that were downed inside the 20 yard line. Duds:Geron Christian - I don’t think it’s humanly possible for an offensive linemen to play any worse than Christian played Sunday afternoon. It was a complete embarrassment. He doesn’t even look like he belongs in the Arena League at this point. His performance is right up there with King Dunlop’s on Monday Night Football many years ago. Daron Payne - Payne was almost invisible Sunday afternoon. I don’t know if it was the Falcons game plan, or just poor play in general, but the rookie made absolutely no impact on the afternoon. Am I being too hard on him... maybe, but I’ve grown to expect more. Mason Foster/Zach Brown - The linebacking duo, who has played exceptionally well against the run over the past five weeks, was absolutely gashed by the Falcons Sunday. They could not get off blocks, get their correct reads or pursue the ball carrier in any capacity. They were a non-factor in the passing game. Embarrassingly horrible performance by these two. The Redskins Secondary - I’m going to give two passes here, as HaHa Clinton-Dix had less than a week in our system after getting traded from Green Bay at the deadline. I also though Dunbar played pretty well, and we all know he was not 100 percent. Aside from these two, the secondary was absolutely atrocious. They allowed 350 passing yards and five touchdowns to Matt Ryan. Fabian Moreau was particularly bad in the slot. The Redskins Coaching Staff - Say what you want, but this isn’t all on Jay Gruden. Manusky’s defense got absolutely abused by Matt Ryan and the Falcons, and couldn’t shut down a U12 Pop Warner team on the afternoon. The secondary was horrible, the linebackers were horrible, and Tomsula’s defensive line was horrible. I almost want to give Callahan’s group a pass because you can’t account for injuries, but aside from those, the blocking up front was just bad Derrius Guice Jersey , and the penalties were inexcusable. The Redskins Front Office - This one comes down to the decision to re-sign Shawn Lauvao after KNOWING he has a history of injuries. Now, yet again, we are left with no plan at left guard after yet another Lauvao injury (his second of the season). Enough is enough already! I feel bad Lauvao got injured, but to even attempt to rely on him for the season was a MASSIVE mistake! The Refs - If you are going to call penalties, at least call them both ways!I counted at least three picks that SHOULD have been called on the Falcons in the passing game. I guess only one team held on the afternoon... This crew was a complete joke all afternoon (except when the penalty involved Geron Christian). Notes: - I loved the long run Alex had when he escaped the sack and scampered down the right sideline...but protect yourself and GET OUT OF BOUNDS! - Josh Doctson had two BAD drops early on, but came back to atone for his mistakes by making some outstanding catches in traffic, including a nice touchdown. The drops, however, have plagued him throughout his young career. If he ever wants to take that next step, he’ll need to eliminate these simple mistakes.- I love the way Morgan Moses fights through being banged up, but he was very inconsistent even before he got rolled up on.- There is a significant drop-off in talent when Tony Bergstrom is in the game. David Blough, QBSchool: Purdue / Conference: Big TenCollege Experience: RS Senior | Age: 23Height / Weight: 6-0 / 205 lbsProjected Draft Status: 5th-6th round Player Comparison: Kirk CousinsCollege StatisticsPlayer OverviewOne of the main underwhelming positions of the 2018 position was the performance from the quarterback position. Washington was forced to trot out a cadre of QBs (Alex Smith, Colt McCoy, Mark Sanchez, Josh Johnson) due to injuries and poor play. All quarterbacks listed are over age 30, some had various injuries and/or have history bouncing to various teams. None of the quarterbacks listed are considered long-term options. Washington doesn’t only need a franchise QB but an overhaul of QB depth.David Blough is a prospect who should be able to learn the nuances of the offense behind possibly Colt McCoy. Blough is a fifth-year senior from Purdue who played in an offense where he was tasked to make quick reads and a lot of short completions. He led Purdue to 6-7 record this year with a 5-4 record in conference play. This year, Blough lead Purdue to quality wins against then #23 Boston College, #2 Ohio State, and #16 Iowa. However, he also been at the helm of bad losses against unranked teams including a drubbing by Auburn at the Music City Bowl. Under Blough, Purdue has the 11th best offense in the nation. StrengthsGreat accuracy and zip on short throws.Good footwork and mobility. Decisive decision-making. WeaknessesFootwork falls off under pressure.Worked in an offense with a lot of short and underneath throws. Unable to consistently make the throws under pressure.Poor deep throws accuracy (balls often lands out of bounds).Needs to show how strong his arm and accuracy is on intermediate and deep throws. GradeSize (5 of 10) A bit undersized for the position. He definitely needs to bulk up for the rigors of the NFL.Arm Talent (5.5 of 10) Not the best arm talent outside short passes. Short passes has great zip Jonathan Allen Jersey , speed, and comes out fast. Longer throws are often off-target, nowhere near for the receiver to make a play. Accuracy (10 of 15) Blough has improved his completion percentage each year up to 66.7%. His interception percentage during his senior year is ~1.9%. This throws, especially the short ones, are very accurate in ball placement and gives the receivers time to catch in strides for YAC opportunities. However, the higher accuracy percentage could be attributed to the heavy amount of short passes thrown. Mobility (6 of 10) Decent mobility. Can escape occasion pressure and scramble for some yards. Alex Smith-like.Mental Processing (10 of 15) Blough has shown to be proficient at making pre-snap reads. The offense however forces him to make a lot of throws off quick readsMechanics (7 of 10) Blough has good footwork in the pocket that becomes decent when pressured. He throws a great ball with great accuracy within 10 yards pass the line of scrimmage. Fast throwing delivery. His accuracy and touch on deeper throws are off target and lacks zip.Footwork, delivery, throwing motion, release. Impacts accuracy, arm strength, and ability to throw in a bad pocket. I’d say this is important for longevity and consistency.Leadership (9 of 15)Outstanding character. Known for his public servitude. His visits and volunteer efforts in a South African orphanage as part of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes has been well documented. Like Kirk Cousins. On the field, he is a decent player who on few occasions have led his team to beat better opponents. Watched bowl game against Auburn. He tried his best to lead his outmatched unit against a stout Auburn defense. Didn’t lead to a victory but there wasn’t any deterrent in Blough’s effort. Clutch (9 of 15) Blough gets major points for defeating the then-No.2 Ohio State in a blowout victory 49-20. He also has quality wins against other ranked opponents such as No. 23 Boston College and No. 16 Iowa. However, Purdue has been an inconsistent team as their record shows. There are moments where the defense puts the game out of reach for them to be clutch moments. One game this season against Michigan State, Blough failed to lead his team to a scoring drive in the 4th quarter when the team was down 13-16. Total:61.5/100How He Would Fit On The RedskinsDavid’s Blough offensive skillset fits perfectly for Jay Gruden’s West Coast offense which looks similar to the one ran at Purdue. He has great accuracy, touch, and ball placement in the short passing game with decisive decision-making. Those traits fits with other past QBs Jay Gruden prefers with to run his offense. Blough projects to be a backup quarterback in the NFL. In Washington, we can be the immediate backup for projected starter, Colt McCoy.
